Most companies say they value listening, but few companies train their employees to listen. While listening is a part of communication, when communication is trained it primarily focuses on speaking. Laura uses the equation: Communication = Sending Messaes + Receiving Messages. Most communication challenges in organization are listening related, not speaking related.
It is even more challenging when leaders don't listen correctly, as the consequences include projects with mistakes that are over time, over budget, and increased turnover and unemployment. But it doesn't have to be this way!
There are 3 Listening Stategies that are critical for leaders to practice. Join Laura in a very interactive session as she reviews an individual, group, and organizational listening strategy.
Participants will understand how listening is an Action, examine and evaluate their leader's listening training, and create one area of their trining where they might implement one of the top 3 listening strategies.
